Julie E. Mailloux, Psy.D.

Julie Mailloux, Psy.D. is a licensed psychologist.  Dr. Mailloux graduated from the Massachusetts School of Professional Psychology with a degree in clinical psychology and a specialization in health psychology.  She completed internships at the New England Baptist Hospital and the Cambridge Health Alliance, Couples and Family Clinic. Throughout her post-doctoral year of study, Dr. Mailloux continued to work for the Harvard affiliated, Couples and Family Clinic.  She also completed training as a sports psychology consultant, under the direction of Frederick Neff, Psy.D., sports psychology consultant for the Boston Bruins and founder and director of ProFormance Inc.  Dr. Mailloux has held appointments at Harvard Medical School, and served as a Teaching Fellow at the Massachusetts School of Professional Psychology.  Dr. Mailloux is the co-chair of the Massachusetts Psychological Association's Early Career Initiative.

SERVICES PROVIDED
Dr. Mailloux has expertise in individual, couples, family, and group psychotherapy with adults, children, and adolescents.  She treats a wide range of adult and childhood disorders with specialized training in cognitive-behavioral therapy for all anxiety disorders, depression, trichotillomania, tic disorders, and eating disorders.  As a specialist in behavioral medicine, Dr. Mailloux also treats individuals suffering from headache and other pain conditions, obesity, allergies, diabetes and cardiac problems.  As a sports psychology consultant, Dr. Mailloux works with athletes to enhance their performance.   

AVAILABILITY
Dr. Mailloux is available on Monday through Friday at our Norwood office only. 

INSURANCE NETWORKS
Dr. Mailloux participates in the Aetna, Harvard Pilgrim (Pacificare), Blue Cross, HMO Blue-Massachusetts, HMO-Blue New England (Magellan),  Health Care Value Management, & CCN networks.  Although she does not participate with Tufts Health Plan their PPO plan does coverage our services and we will bill THP directly for patients with the PPO plan.  THP HMO members must make payment at the time of service. Many United Healthcare (UBH), CIGNA and other network plans cover her services on an out of network basis. 

Under Massachusetts law you are entitled to coverage by the treatment provider type of your choice (e.g., doctoral level psychologist), using a full range of treatment modalities (i.e., behavioral/cognitive behavioral treatment) in a clinically "appropriate" amount of time.  If you cannot obtain those services within your network you may wish to advocate for coverage for Dr. Mailloux's services by your network.
