MICHAEL A. GOLDBERG, PH.D.
is a licensed psychologist and Certified Health Services Provider. He received his Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Saint Louis University.  Dr. Goldberg completed his internship in Clinical Psychology at Boston Children’s Hospital (Harvard Medical School) with specialty training in Forensic Psychology and Behavioral Medicine.  He completed his Post-doctoral Fellowship in Forensic Psychology and Child Clinical Psychology at Boston Children’s and Massachusetts General Hospitals (Harvard Medical School). 

Dr. Goldberg is the Director of Child & Family Psychological Services, Inc. From 1993 through 2007 he was a Scientific Associate Staff at Boston Children’s Hospital and an Instructor in Psychology at Harvard Medical School.  Dr. Goldberg has been an Instructor at Boston University and Saint Louis University. He has been a consultant for Inflexxion, Inc. on their development of the KidCare interactive video program for children of divorce. Dr. Goldberg has published several scholarly articles and book chapters and has presented internationally. 

 

Dr. Goldberg was elected as a Fellow and is a Past-President of the Massachusetts Psychological Association (MPA). Dr. Goldberg chaired the MPA Education Committee for 4 years and served a term on their Board of Directors.  He also served on the Boards of Directors for The Tourette Syndrome Association of Massachusetts, The Massachusetts Association of Guardians ad Litem (MAGAL), and the Society of Clinical Psychology (APA Division 12) and chaired several committees for these organizations. Dr. Goldberg is also on the advisory board of the Children's Group Therapy Association. He is also a member of the Florida Psychological Association, the Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapy (ABCT), The Society for Behavioral Medicine, the Anxiety Disorders Association of America, the Obsessive Compulsive Foundation, the Society of Pediatric Psychology, APA's Divisions of Child Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy, and the American Law and Psychology Society. In addition, Dr. Goldberg serves on the behavioral health clinical advisory committees for Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts and Harvard-Pilgrim/Pacificare Behavioral Health.

APA's Society of Clinical Psychology honored Dr. Goldberg with their 2002 Theodore Blau Award for Early Career Contributions to the Field of Clinical Psychology. Dr. Goldberg was also given a Presidential Citation from the MPA for his advocacy work to help protect the rights of consumers to obtain the most comprehensive and valid psychological assessments.

AVAILABILITY

Dr. Goldberg is available Monday, Tuesday, & Thursday in our Norwood office.

 

SERVICES PROVIDED

Dr. Goldberg provides forensic evaluation in family law (e.g. divorce, paternity, adoption, termination of parental rights, etc.) and personal injury cases, litigation consultation and court-appointed parent-coordination. He also provides individual, family, and group psychotherapy for children, adolescents and adults.  Dr. Goldberg has particular expertise in the areas of forensic evaluation, behavioral medicine (Encopresis, Enuresis/Wetting, Sickle Cell, Sleep/Insomnia, headachesSickle Cell pain, Tourette Syndrome and tic disorders), anxiety disorders (e.g., OCD, Panic, GAD), ADHD, oppositional defiant behavior.  Dr. Goldberg frequently provides consultation to other practices and mental health agencies, businesses, lawyers, and schools.
