Andrew K. McBrian, Ed.D. earned his undergraduate degree from Yale University. Dr. McBrian earned his doctoral and master’s degrees from Harvard University, with a concentration in Human Development and Psychology. He completed pre-doctoral internships at Boston University Mental Health Services and Eliot Community Mental Health Clinic in Concord, Massachusetts. Dr. McBrian worked as a licensed psychologist at Milton Academy from 1989-2010, including time as the Interim Director of the Counseling Department. Before joining our practice, Dr. McBrian worked as a psychologist at Psychological Care Associates in Woburn, Massachusetts. In addition, Dr. McBrian has worked as an educator, a learning specialist and a school administrator.
Dr. McBrian provides evaluations, coaching and therapy for patients of all ages who have attentional concerns. He also specializes in helping older children, adolescents and adults with generalized anxiety, social anxiety, separation anxiety, panic, and specific phobias using both cognitive-behavioral therapy as well as the option of hypnotherapy. Dr. McBrian also treats patients who have depression, adjustment concerns, sleep concerns, stress management, learning problems, marital/relationship concerns, substance abuse issues and sexual orientation concerns.
Dr. McBrian is available Monday through Friday and some Saturdays in Norwood.
This doctor participates in the Aetna, Harvard Pilgrim (UBH-Pacificare), Blue Cross Blue Shield, Tufts, Beacon Health Strategies-Commercial & GIC Plans, and United Behavioral Health (UBH) networks. CIGNA and other network plans cover his services on an out of network basis. Payment for out of network services must be made at the time of service and the client must submit claims directly to the network. Some of Dr. McBrian’s work related to educational coaching and tutoring is not covered by any health plan for any provider. These types of services will be the responsibility of the patient or their parent.
