Emily Wharton, MSW is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW). She received her Masters of Social Work (MSW) at Simmons College. Before joining CFPS she worked at a community service agency assisting children, adolescents, and adults with individual and family therapy. Prior to that, she worked as a psychotherapist at therapeutic residential programs for adolescents struggling with chronic trauma related symptoms.
Emily provides cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) for anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and other psychiatric difficulties. Her therapeutic approach is positive, empowered, strengths based, and focused on client centered care. Emily offers individual, couples and family therapy and works with children, adolescents and adults. Emily has experience treating a variety of mental and behavioral health issues which includes the treatment of anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship/family dynamics, identity development, substance use and addiction. She values the development of a solid therapeutic relationship as the foundation for creating a safe space to promote healing and self discovery. She utilizes a strengths based, collaborative and empowered approach along with the incorporation of mindfulness and cognitive behavioral methods as guides in the therapeutic process. Emily is available to provide services to clients across the lifespan and focuses on the unique strengths and needs of each individual she serves.
Ms. Wharton is available in our Weymouth office Monday through Friday.
Ms. Wharton is able to provide in network services for individuals with the following health plans: Blue Cross Blue Shield (BCBS), United Behavioral Health (UBH), Harvard Pilgrim (UBH-Pacificare), Beacon Health Strategies-Commercial & GIC Plans and Medicare.
