Dr. Alejandra Faust provides evidence-based psychological treatments for children, adolescents, and adults, 10 years of age through adulthood. Her areas of specialty include anxiety disorders, depression, coping with chronic medical issues (e.g., IBD, diabetes, encopresis, headache, obesity, IBS, infertility, insomnia, hypertension), tobacco cessation, and health-behavior/lifestyle changes. Dr. Faust utilizes a variety of modalities depending on clients’ needs, including Cognitive-Behavior Therapy (CBT), stress-management/relaxation techniques, biofeedback, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, exposure and response prevention, and Motivational Interviewing.
Dr. Faust received her BA with a double major in psychology and sociology from Tufts University. She then earned her doctorate in Clinical Psychology from University at Albany, SUNY, Albany. She completed her predoctoral internship at MercyFirst in Syosset, NY and her postdoctoral fellowship at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Bedford, MA.
