Dr. Svajian provides a relational and strength-based approach to engaging in psychotherapy with adults of all ages, bringing in principles of cognitive-behavioral therapy when appropriate. Using the therapeutic relationship to explore adults’ relationships with themselves, others and the world, she has helped the adults she works with to manage and alleviate symptoms of depression and anxiety, and to navigate the inevitable changes in life.
Dr. Svajian believes that we grow and change through our relationships with others. Having a sense of humor helps! Using an eclectic style, she works with women’s issues, men’s issues, the GLBT community and people going through divorce. She also has an interest in the emotional impact of infertility challenges as well as pre- and post-partum mental health.
In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Svajian is also the Clinical Director of CFPS in Raynham.
Dr. Svajian received her doctoral training in psychology at the Massachusetts School of Professional Psychology, now William James College. She completed a post-doctoral fellowship at Roger Williams University. Dr. Svajian completed internships at the Juvenile Court Clinic in Boston and the University of Massachusetts at Dartmouth. Prior to her doctoral training, Dr. Svajian received a Master’s Degree in mental health counseling at the University of Massachusetts at Boston.
