Dr. Guercia utilizes a client-centered approach to treating children, adolescents, and young adults in individual psychotherapy. Additionally, she enjoys working with first-generation college students. She has experience treating a wide range of mental health and behavioral difficulties, and also has experience conducting cognitive and psychological assessments with children and adults. Dr. Guercia incorporates a variety of theoretical orientations into therapy depending on the client’s needs, which typically include humanistic, psychodynamic, cognitive-behavioral, and mindfulness approaches. She is also fluent in Spanish.
Dr. Guercia completed her undergraduate studies at Roger Williams University, where she double-majored in Psychology and Spanish. She completed her doctoral studies in Clinical Psychology at William James College, where she also obtained a Master of Arts in Professional Psychology. She also completed a concentration in Latinx Mental Health at William James College. Before joining LifeStance Health for her post-doctoral training, Dr Guercia completed her pre-doctoral training at Fecteau-Leary Junior/Senior High School, Brighton-Allston Mental Health Association and Angier Elementary School. She completed her APA-accredited predoctoral internship with Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital’s inpatient psychiatry unit and Rhode Island College Counseling Center as part of the William James College Consortium.
