Dr. Schafer also completed pre-doctoral training at Sheridan Shore Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, where he provided individual and group therapy for a geriatric population and at Haymarket Substance Abuse Agency, where he provided individual and group therapy for individuals suffering from substance abuse and dual diagnosis. Dr. Schafer completed his pre-doctoral internship at North Central Bronx, where he provided assessment as well as individual and group therapy for individuals in inpatient, partial hospitalization and outpatient settings.
