Dr. Morray is passionate about providing therapy that is grounded in principles of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). ACT is an empirically-based intervention that focuses on mindfulness, compassionate acceptance, and behavior change as tools that allow individuals to respond to the pain of life with flexibility and purpose. Acknowledging that painful emotional experiences are an unavoidable part of being alive, this set of tools helps people move in the direction of that which is most important to them by helping them to struggle less with pain, and engage more in life.
Trained in psychodynamic and relational-cultural theories of therapy, supported by skills in the Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), and passionate about the work of Dr. Brene Brown, Dr. Morray enjoys creating deeply collaborative relationships characterized by warmth, humor, and the creation of a space in which vulnerability is honored.
Dr. Morray’s specialty interests include the intersections of reproductive and mental health (including fertility, pregnancy loss, peripartum mood concerns, and transition to parenting); mood and anxiety disoders; body image concerns; relational health; and support around life transitions.
Dr. Morray completed her doctoral training at the University of Texas at Austin, followed by a postdoctoral fellowship in Behavioral Health at Harvard Vanguard Medical Associates. Prior to her doctoral training she received a Master’s Degree in Mental Health Counseling from Boston College and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Boston University. She has completed extensive training in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and the Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT).
