Emily provides a nurturing, supportive approach to therapy to treat a wide variety of mental health and environmental issues for children and adolescents ranging in age from 3-20. She has a strong ability to form relationships.
Emily provides individual therapy and family therapy upon request. Therapeutic modalities include play therapy, expressive art therapy, Cogitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Mindfulness-based interventions, Social Skill support and training to name a few.
Emily provides evidence-based practice through a developmental lens and uses a holistic approach to treatment. Emily specializes in treating Anxiety, Depression, symptoms of ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorders, Developmental Disabilities, and Adjustment Disorders. She is skilled in working with children and adolescents who have experienced issues relating to trauma, oppositional behavior, self esteem, adjustment, adoption, gender identity, school refusal, social and interpersonal skills, and a wide range of behavioral issues in the home, school, and community.
Emily began her studies at Colby-Sawyer College where she obtained her Bachelor of Science in Child Development with additional studies in Sociology. She went on to obtain a Master of Social Work at Wheelock College. She has experience in therapeutic school settings for preschool through highschool-aged children and adolescents. Emily also has experience in community-based, in home programs as well as several years as a therapist in a residential treatment program.
