Hilary utilizes a client-focused, strengths-based approach in addition to cognitive-behavioral and mind-body therapies. She specializes in working with adolescents, teens, and adults with expertise treating anxiety, depression, ADHD, low self-esteem, and adjustment issues. She has particular interest in integrating mindfulness, breathing exercises, and guided imagery into her work to help clients live more fully in the present.
Hilary Scott, Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW), received her Master of Social Work degree from Simmons College in 2014 and her Bachelor of Arts degree from Stonehill College in 2010. After completing her undergraduate studies in Psychology and Spanish with Magna cum laude honors, Hilary spent a year volunteering at the Hogar del Niño school in the Dominican Republic, where she spearheaded a new girls self-esteem program, extracurricular program, and scholarship fund. Hilary has worked in residential, middle school, high school, college, and hospital settings, and spent over 2 years as a clinical social worker in the Center for Children with Special Needs at Tufts Children's Hospital. In 2013, Hilary presented at the International Consortium for Social Development in Kampala, Uganda on the topic of incorporating mindfulness into psychotherapy. She is also a graduate of the 8-week Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction Program and of Terry Fralich's Mindfulness Certificate Course.
