About Jacqueline Sands, Psy.D., LMHC

Dr. Ocana joins PCA from Lynn Community Health Center. Her therapeutic orientation is one where she incorporates a biopsychosocial and eclectic model into her scope of practice drawing upon different techniques or theories that fit with the individual’s specific needs. Dr. Ocana’s therapeutic style is described as warm, collaborative, and compassionate. Through her work, she seeks to empower all clients to live their best and healthiest lives amidst the many challenges we encounter. Dr. Ocana attempts to bolster her clients’ sense of strength, resiliency, and serenity. She is fluent in both English and Spanish, and provides evaluation and treatment to children, adolescents and adults in our PCA’s North Andover office.

    Dr Ocana, earned her doctorate in clinical psychology from the Massachusetts School of Professional Psychology (currently known as William James College) and is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor. She trained at Arbour Hospital in Jamaica Plain where she conducted assessments and provided group psychotherapy, as well as Assumption College in Worcester, where she provided individual therapy and participated in on-campus outreach. Dr. Ocana completed an internship at Mass General for Children at North Shore Medical Center in Salem where she conducted evaluations and provided individual psychotherapy. She then completed an internship at South End Community Mental Health Center in Boston with a focus on providing therapy to children and collaborating with families, teachers, physicians, and other mental health care providers. Dr. Ocana completed her doctoral fellowship at the Lynn Community Health Center where she then accepted a position as Lead Integrated Behavior Health Provider in 2016 after her fellowship. As Lead, she provided individual therapy to a diverse population of children, adolescents, and adults, in addition to managerial and leadership responsibilities.
