Kerry Hennessy provides individual, couple’s and family therapy focusing on a client-centered, strength’s based approach that supports clients around achievement of their identified goals. Kerry has 22 years of experience in the field as a licensed independent clinical social worker and has worked with a diverse population in various outpatient clinical settings both as a therapist and Program/Clinical Director. She has extensive experience and knowledge of a vast amount of clinical disorders, including but not limited to Addiction, Personality and Mood Disorders, Anxiety/Panic, Trauma, Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, Self-Injury and Schizophrenia. She also conducts couple’s and family therapy at the request of clients. Utilizing techniques that include Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI) and aspects of Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Kerry is able to evaluate, diagnosis, treat and support clients presenting with these types of disorders. In addition, she has recently become certified as a Nutrition Coach by the National Association of Sports Medicine and has held a certification as a Primary Group Fitness Instructor for 22 years, enabling her to assess, educate and incorporate exercise and nutrition information into her mental health and addiction treatment modalities.
Kerry Hennessy received her Master’s Degree in Social Work from Boston College in 1998. She completed a three-day intensive training in order to practice EMDR with clients. Kerry is also a certified Nutrition Coach and Primary Group Exercise Instructor.
