Laura utilizes an integrative and holistic approach to therapy, tailoring treatment to each client's individual needs. She works with children, adolescents, and their families to improve behavioral, emotional, and mental health needs necessary for success in the home, school, and community. She provides strengths-based treatment to support and facilitate healthy growth and development. Laura also supports families function in more positive and constructive ways by exploring patterns of communication and providing support and education.
Laura has extensive experience working with children and adolescents within CBHI services providing intensive family therapy. Additionally, Laura has experience working with children with complex trauma in residential treatment providing individual, group, and family therapy. Laura has training in both SMART therapy and the ARC framework.
Areas of specialty include complex trauma, anxiety, depression, mood disorders, adjustment disorders, family relationships, foster care and adoption. Laura utilizes a variety of modalities depending on clients' needs including cognitive-behavior therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), mindfulness, play therapy, attachment based therapy, and family systems therapy.
Laura received her Bachelor's Degree in Psychology at the University of Massachusetts Amherst followed by her Masters in Social Work at Simmons College.
