Magda provides individual psychotherapy for children, adolescents and adults. She specializes working with individuals who struggle with anxiety, depression, adjustment and behavioral disorders, stress-related disorders, chronic health issues, trauma/PTSD, and life transitions. Her therapeutic approach reflects integration of traditional talk therapy with expressive arts, depending on clients’ needs. Magda utilizes a variety of modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), aspects of Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) - blending them with art, music, play and mindfulness based therapeutic interventions. Magda approaches her work with warmth, compassion and empathy, which enables her to connect with her clients to promote healing, growth and finding meaning in their lives.
Magda received her combined Master’s Degree in Psychology and Counseling and Expressive Arts Therapies at Lesley University. She is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor as well as Board Certified Music Therapist and Neurological Music Therapist. Magda is fully trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma Focused-CBT, and she completed Level One and Two in Trauma- Informed Expressive Arts Therapy®. In addition, she completed Level I training of Guided Imagery and Music.
