About Mark D. McCurdy, Ph.D.

Dr. McCurdy conducts comprehensive neuropsychological and neurodevelopmental evaluations, and provides family/school consultation services, for children, adolescents and young adults. He specializes in assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning for children and adolescents with neurodevelopmental concerns (e.g., developmental delay, ADHD, specific learning disorder, intellectual disability), complex medical, genetic, and/or neurological conditions (e.g., traumatic brain injury, epilepsy, stroke, spina bifida, cancer/brain tumor, neurofibromatosis, Duchenne muscular dystrophy), and other cognitive, emotional, behavioral, or psychosocial difficulties interfering with a child's day-to-day functioning, learning, and overall quality of life.

Dr. McCurdy is passionate about enhancing quality of life for the children and families with whom he works. He has served a broad range of medically and neurodevelopmentally complex children spanning the continuum of care, from inpatient neurorehabilitation units to outpatient specialty clinics of large pediatric academic medical centers across the country. His clinical and research interests are focused on identifying individual and environmental risk and resilience factors associated with functional and quality of life outcomes following acquired brain injury in childhood. He has presented his work at national and international conferences and has published numerous original research articles in peer-reviewed scientific and medical journals.

    Dr. McCurdy earned his doctorate in Clinical Psychology, with an emphasis in Clinical Neuropsychology, from Drexel University in Philadelphia, PA. He completed his predoctoral residency in pediatric neuropsychology and behavioral psychology at the Kennedy Krieger Institute/Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in Baltimore, MD and subsequently completed a two-year postdoctoral fellowship in Pediatric Neuropsychology at Texas Children's Hospital/Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, TX.
