About Michael Preston, Ph.D.

Dr. Michael Preston has been a practicing clinical psychologist for more than thirty years. He has treated children, adolescents, adults, geriatric clients and their families though at this point in his career he is treating mostly adolescents through geriatric clients and their families. In addition to psychotherapy, he has been providing psychological and neuropsychological evaluations for more than thirty years. These evaluation experiences help him to understand the concerns and issues of his clients. Dr. Preston uses traditional psychotherapeutic methods and cognitive behavioral strategies to support and facilitate progress made by clients.

    Dr. Preston completed his doctoral program in Educational Psychology at the University of Iowa in 1981. He received Master’s degree training in psychological counseling at the University of Nebraska in 1975. He received his bachelor’s degree in Psychology at the University of Massachusetts in 1974. He completed graduate level coursework in School Psychology, Projective Psychological Testing and Family Therapy at University of Massachusetts In 1983 and 1984. He completed a post-doctoral certificate program in neuropsychology in 2004 at Fielding Graduate University.
