Michele Lyons, Psy.D. is a licensed psychologist and Certified Health Service Provider. Dr. Lyons received her Doctorate of Clinical Psychology from the University of Hartford. She completed a pre-doctoral internship in child and adolescent psychology at Four Winds Hospital, Katonah, New York. Dr. Lyons also completed post-doctoral training at Connecticut Children’s Medical Center School and The Academy North, Reading, MA. Prior to joining Child & Family Psychological Services Dr. Lyons was a Staff Psychologist at UMASS/Wing Memorial Hospital’s outpatient mental health clinic.
In addition to her clinical services, she serves as the Site Director for the Northborough and Auburn locations.
Dr. Lyons is a clinical and health psychologist who integrates cognitive-behavioral therapy, mindfulness-based stress management, acceptance and commitment therapy, and problem-solving therapy. Dr. Lyons specializes in using these interventions to help patients and their families coping with cancer and cancer treatment and other major medical difficulties. She also uses these skills in an integrated manner and has extensive experience in the following areas: grief and bereavement, women’s health, depression and anxiety in women and adolescent girls, coping with life transitions and parenting (including children with special needs, physical disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, and chronic and/or severe medical illnesses). She provides individual and family therapy. Dr. Lyons is also available to provide consultation and training to health care providers to optimize the biomedical health of their patients, as well as stress management for providers to promote a healthy work/life balance.
