Rachel is a licensed mental health therapist who has been practicing in the area of clinical social work for nearly 25 years. Rachel enjoys working with a diverse population and serves clients ages 12 and older.
Rachel provides individual, family and couples therapy. Rachel identifies her approach as primarily psychodynamic, asserting that the relationship between client and therapist is the most significant component of treatment and serves as the vehicle through which positive change occurs. Rachel’s approach is relaxed and warm; she creates a judgment free environment, encouraging clients to explore their underlying thoughts and feelings and develop an understanding of how these are impacting current functioning and quality of life.
Rachel is experienced in working with a broad spectrum of emotional and behavioral disorders as well as stress-related disorders, marital difficulties, substance abuse and parenting challenges. Her areas of specialty include mood disorders, anxiety disorder, substance abuse disorders, anger management, grief/bereavement, parental guidance/family/therapy, couples/marital relations, self-injury and oppositional defiant disorder.
Rachel received her B.A. in Psychology from the University of Rhode Island in 1990. Rachel earned her Master’s degree in Clinical Social Work from Rhode Island College in 1997.
