Dr. Mason approaches his work in a warm and non-judgmental manner to help patients bring about meaningful change and understanding while in a safe and warm therapeutic environment. He has extensive experience working with adolescents, adults, and Veterans and their families addressing challenges related to anxiety, depression, life transitional issues, relationship dynamics, PTSD and other trauma related conditions, as well as problematic substance use. He has a range of experience offering a variety of interventions within a school, college, outpatient, and Veteran hospital settings. Dr. Mason believes in patient centered care and uses several modalities including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), mindfulness and meditation practice, Motivational Interviewing, Narrative Therapy, and Prolonged Exposure Therapy (PE). Lastly, Dr. Mason is committed to tailoring a meaningful approach to address each client's unique background, needs, and requests.
Dr. Mason received his doctoral training in Clinical Psychology at William James College, and recently completed his Post-Doctoral Fellowship at the Bedford VA Hospital. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Psychology at Christopher Newport University.
