Sami is a doctorate-level intern who has worked in the mental health field for 6 years. During this time, she has worked with children, adolescents, teens, and adults from diverse backgrounds in both group and individual therapy. Clients benefit from Sami’s humor and person-centered approach that emphasizes the therapeutic relationship as the foundation of treatment. This approach, combined with various evidence-based therapies, such as CBT, ACT, and DBT, allows Sami to individualize treatment to each client’s specific needs. Those seeking treatment for depression, anxiety, relationship/interpersonal stressors, adjustment, or with a history of trauma benefit from the warm, welcoming, and healing environment Sami strives to create in treatment.
Sami also provides psychological evaluations for children, adolescents, and adults. She specializes in assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning for various conditions, including but not limited to Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, anxiety, and depression.
Sami is currently a fifth-year Clinical Psychology doctoral student at William James College. She has completed practicum training at Barnstable County Correctional Facility, The Home for Little Wanderers, and Norwood Behavioral Health. Prior to beginning her doctoral degree, she received her Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from William James College. Prior to her Master's she received dual Bachelor's Degrees in Psychology and Criminal Justice from the University of New Haven where focused on clinical psychology and victim service administration.
