Shannon provides a strengths-based goal-oriented approach to therapy treating PTSD, depression, anxiety, mood and attachment, children, adolescents, families and young adults with a sense of humor. She works with children navigating change and/or disruption in their attachments and relationships as well as families looking for support and skills building positive communication and closer relationships. Young adults struggling with depression, anxiety, attachment and/or trauma also show positive results in treatment with her evidence-based practice.
Shannon provides Individual (child/adolescent/adult) and family therapy using CBT, DBT, Internal Family Systems, Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction, and Narrative Therapy upon request. She utilizes a variety of modalities depending on clients’ needs, including dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), cognitive-behavior therapy (CBT), mindfulness/relaxation techniques, Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Narrative Therapy (a part of Trauma Focused-CBT).
Shannon received her Bachelors Degree in Social Work from Westfield State University in 2015. She then went on to the Advanced Standing Masters of Social Work Program at Wheelock College and graduated in 2016. In April 2017 she obtained her LCSW. As she moved forward in her career working for Lahey Health Behavioral Services she obtained her LICSW in November 2019. Shannon is trained in areas such as AF-CBT, TF-CBT, ARC/GROW and DBT focused interventions.
