Mr. Granahan provides individual, family and couples psychotherapy to children, adolescents and adults, ages 5-60. He works with a variety of treatment needs including ADHD, anxiety, depression, mood disorder, trauma, autism spectrum disorders, attachment disorder, behavioral and emotional dysregulation, and family stress. He is a trauma-informed therapist who uses CBT, body-based, directed and non-directed play therapy, skills training and mindfulness approaches. Mr. Granahan is also an ARC Provider (Attachment, Regulation and Competency Framework) for youth, families and settings addressing complex developmental trauma. He has been trained in Children and Family Traumatic Stress Intervention (CFTSI) and provides short-term intervention for children and families who have experienced a recent traumatic event. In his work with children, he works closely with parents and caregivers, providing consultation and interventions for use in the home or caregiving system.
Richard Granahan, LICSW, is a licensed independent clinical social worker. He received his Master of Social Work degree from Smith College School for Social Work. Before joining LifeStance Health, Mr. Granahan was employed as the Clinical Director at the Susan Wayne Center of Excellence, Justice Resource Institute in Thompson, CT. He has extensive clinical practice and supervisory and training experience with children, adolescents and families in out-patient, residential and school settings.
