Richard Granahan, LICSW, is a licensed independent clinical social worker. He received his Master of Social Work degree from Smith College School for Social Work. Before joining CFPS, Mr. Granahan was employed at the Susan Wayne Center of Excellence, Justice Resource Institute in Thompson, CT. He has extensive clinical practice and supervisory and training experience with children, adolescents and families in out-patient, residential and school settings.
Mr. Granahan provides individual, family and group psychotherapy with a range of special populations and treatment needs including simple and complex trauma, intellectual and developmental challenges, autism spectrum disorders, severe behavioral and mental health needs, substance use, problem sexual behavior and juvenile delinquency. He is also an ARC Provider (Attachment, Regulation and Competency Framework) for youth, families and settings addressing complex developmental trauma. He has been trained in Children and Family Traumatic Stress Intervention (CFTSI) and provides short-term intervention for children and families who have experienced a recent traumatic event.
