Dr. West provides evidence-based psychological treatments for adults. His areas of specialty include anxiety disorders, mood disorders, including bipolar disorder, and adjustment disorders complicated by challenges with cross-cultural adjustment. Dr. West utilizes a variety of modalities depending on clients’ needs, including psychodynamic psychotherapy, cognitive-behavior therapy (CBT), mindfulness-based cognitive therapy (MBCT) and stress-management/relaxation techniques.
Dr. West completed his Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology (APA-approved program) from Michigan State University; pre-doctoral internship in clinical psychology at the Massachusetts Mental Health Center in affiliation with Harvard Medical School Department of Psychiatry and a post-doctoral fellowship in clinical psychology at Mt. Auburn Hospital in affiliation with Harvard Medical School Department of Psychiatry. Prior to his doctoral training, Dr. West received a Master’s Degree in Psychiatric Rehabilitation Counseling from the University of Virginia.
