Dr. Grace Verbeck provides a relational approach to therapy with over a decade of experience treating children, youth, and adults with histories of complex trauma and associated conditions including PTSD, dissociation, and stress-related disorders. She also has considerable expertise providing clinical services to lesbian, gay, transgender, queer, gender fluid, and non-binary individuals and their families. She embraces a trans-affirmative approach in which all experiences of gender are acknowledged and validated.
Dr. Verbeck utilizes interventions developed to enhance sources of resiliency to support clients in becoming more resistant to everyday stressors - both expected and unexpected. She creates space for clients to safely explore, understand, and inhabit their unique experiences. Dr. Verbeck has mastered a wide variety of evidence-based and innovative complex trauma intervention models such as Trauma-Focused cognitive-behavioral therapy (TF-CBT), Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), biofeedback, ARC (Attachment, Regulation, and Competency) and SMART (Sensory Motor Arousal Regulation Therapy). In addition to her clinical services, Dr. Verbeck also serves as the Site Director for LifeStance Health’s outpatient office in Lexington, MA.
Dr. Verbeck received her doctoral training in Clinical Psychology at the California School of Professional Psychology in San Diego, followed by an APA-accredited predoctoral internship at the University of California Davis Children's Hospital CAARE Center. In addition, she completed her postdoctoral fellowship at the acclaimed Trauma Center in Boston.
