About Erin Cohen, LMHC

Erin has been working in the behavioral health field for over fourteen years. In her career she has had the opportunity to help individuals ranging in age from three years to ninety-three years in the areas of disability, homelessness, mood disorders, anxiety disorders, substance abuse, trauma, and major mental illness. She has experience providing support to clients in emergency rooms, schools, day treatment programs, residential settings, and most recently in outpatient psychotherapy. Erin provides a relationship based approach to therapy with the understanding that change can only take place in a space that is comfortable, flexible, and supportive. She takes the time to nurture and cultivate a therapeutic relationship by using psycho-education, clinical theory, and a lot of humor. Through working with a variety of populations in a variety of contexts she has learned that each patient is an individual that requires different strategies, tools and treatments to foster growth.
